Our Commitment to Quality Care at WCMC
At WCMC, we remain dedicated to providing thorough, personal, and high-quality medical care.
To continue delivering this level of care while remaining financially viable—covering essential costs such as staff wages, rent, electricity, and insurance—we operate as a mixed billing practice. Currently, we bulk bill approximately 70% of our patients, including:
- Concession card holders
- Children under 16
- Students with a valid Medicare card
- Patients receiving care plans and health assessments
Unfortunately, recent government changes have reduced the Medicare rebate for care plans and removed key mental health items. These cuts make it increasingly difficult to sustain quality care under a universal bulk billing model.
If we were to bulk bill every patient and every appointment, we would be forced into a “6-minute medicine” model—high patient turnover, reduced consultation time, and compromised care. That’s not the kind of medicine we practice, nor the kind of care you deserve.
To maintain our high standards and personal approach, we will not switch to universal bulk billing, despite what may be suggested in the media.
We understand that healthcare costs are a concern. If these changes affect you, we encourage you to contact your local Federal Member of Parliament and share your experience. We believe the government should:
- Increase the Medicare rebate to reduce out-of-pocket costs
- Restore funding for chronic disease and mental health care
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

We are a mixed billing practice. Bulk Billing is available for eligible patients (Students, aged pensioners, children under 16 years and Centrelink concession card holders).
